What’s your happiest childhood memory? 😍💙 Why not share with us and join UNICEF’s #MYChildhoodChallenge to raise awareness about the importance of #childhood for every child.
What is the #MYChildhoodChallenge?
The #ChildhoodChallenge is for awesome people just like you to share a picture of a beautiful memory from your childhood. And to get your friends to do the same. We hope that the many pictures will help champion childhood for all children. #MYChildhoodChallenge, designed specially for Malaysia is based on the global UNICEF Challenge.
And we’ve got some cool people already taking part in this Challenge. Such as UNICEF Ambassador Lionel Messi, UNICEF National Ambassador for India Kareena Kapoor Khan as well as UNICEF Malaysia’s very own Youth Advocate, Ismail Izzani.
The ChildhoodChallenge was launched online on 28 June 2020.
Every child has a right to Childhood
Am sure you’ll agree with me: Childhood is a time when kids should just be kids. A time for playing and learning, to grow strong and confident with the love of our family and community. It’s a precious time to live free from fear, safe from violence and exploitation, and protected from hunger and diseases.
.
But you know what? Millions of children across the world are missing out on their childhood. Tens of thousands of children are victims of conflict and violence, many forced to flee their homes, millions out of school, hungry and malnourished. Many more children are now being left behind due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Children have been forgotten as they are less affected by the symptoms. However, they are most vulnerable to the aftershocks of the virus.
Without our help, an additional 6,000 children could die every day over the next 6 months globally.
Taking part is easy. Here’s how:
