It’ll be the biggest united hack of our lives! The UN SDG Action Campaign is calling for 1 million problem solvers from every corner of the world to participate in the biggest hackathon. – #TheGlobalHack is gonna happen from 7 – 12 April 2020 to build solutions for people and the planet during and after the #coronacrisis is over.
#COVID-19 is the greatest challenge that we have faced together. It is also a very unique situation as the whole world is tackling the same problem all at once, together.
Hackathon Eligibility
Young people, activists, experts, startups, government officials, private sector leaders, media and creatives, developers and literal hackers are invited to take part to co-create solutions to this global health crisis and beyond. Participants must be over 12 years old, and in teams of a minimum 4 members.

Tracks
Different tracks will look for solutions to the many pressing issues, aligned to key Sustainable Development Goals: Arts & Creativity, Crisis Response, Economy, Education, Empowerment, Environment, Governance, Health & Wellness, Media and Entertainment, Mental Health, Solidarity in Action and Work.
Requirements
You take part in the Hackathon with an idea developed from scratch or you can come with an existing product, but you need to develop it further (like a new feature) during this Hackathon. When submitting your project before other things:
- Describe the problem & target, who has this problem. Try to be as precise as possible.
- What’s your solution? What do you want to build during the hackathon? It doesn’t need to be perfect, but realistic. Describe the technical and non-technical elements as best as you can.
By the end of the Hackathon Teams need to provide:
- working prototype (will not accept any PowerPoint slides or any similar presentations)
- a 2-minute demo video of the project and the prototype
