Bullying is not cool. It’s not something you should just “tough out.” It messes with your self-worth, confidence, and future relationships. Sometimes, it can lead to serious harm – even death.
Bullying can happen anywhere.
Bullying can happen to anyone, anywhere, and at any time. It happens at home, at school, college and at the playground.
Bullying is always mean.
Threats, name-calling, insults, or mocking someone for how they look, talk, dress, or act.
Bullying is when someone intentionally tries to hurt or scare another person — physically, emotionally, or mentally. Most of the time, it happens when no adult is watching. Here are some of the common types:
- Verbal bullying: Threats, name-calling, insults, or mocking someone for how they look, talk, dress, or act.
- Relational bullying: Spreading rumours, gossiping, or leaving someone out on purpose.
- Physical bullying: Hitting, punching, kicking, pushing — or destroying someone’s stuff.
- Cyberbullying: Using social media, games, or chats to shame, threaten, or embarrass someone.
Words can hurt too!
Being punched leaves bruises. But words?
They leave scars on the inside.
Calling someone names, teasing or mocking – that’s still bullying.
Teasing is not harmless.
Teasing happens all the time. So does name-calling.
But just because it doesn’t leave marks doesn’t mean it’s okay.
This kind of bullying often gets ignored by adults – but it hurts just as much.
All bullying is hurtful.
Whether it’s name-calling, spreading lies, or asking for money – it’s all wrong.
No one likes being picked on for being different.
No one should have to hand over their lunch money or get hit for standing out.
Why do people bully?
Some children bully to feel powerful or popular.
They often target others who are quieter, smaller, or different.
But sometimes, bullies act that way because they’re also hurting – maybe at home or somewhere else.
So, what can you do?
Speak up. Tell a trusted adult.
If someone you know is being bullied, don’t ignore it.

And remember – Bullying is not cool. Not in school, not online, not anywhere.
