Mental Health and Wellbeing

Mental health and wellbeing are essential to living a fulfilling life. In today’s fast-paced world, the pressures of school, exams, relationships and social media can take a toll on our mental health. Prioritizing our mental health and wellbeing can help us cope with these challenges and enjoy a more satisfying life.

The Problem

Mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and bi-polar are a growing problem among teenagers. Half of all mental health conditions start by 14 years of age, but most cases go undetected and untreated. Sadly, many teens don’t receive the support they need, either because they don’t know how to ask for help or because they’re afraid of the stigma surrounding mental illness.

424,000 children were found to have mental health problems in Malaysia according to the National Health and Morbidity Survey 2019.

Did You Know?

Change starts with YOUth

Young people worldwide are breaking the silence on mental health by speaking out and advocating for better mental health care and policies. To prevent misinformation and encourage help-seeking behavior, it’s important to talk openly about the issue and share experiences. Connecting with others for support and reaching out if concerned for a loved one can also make a difference. By reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness, young people can ensure everyone has access to the resources they need.
