Stories can move hearts, open minds, and drive action. That’s why UNICEF Malaysia is inviting 10 young people to join our FREE Children4Change Youth Blogging Workshop in Kuala Lumpur – a space to learn, write, and speak up for what matters.
From Malala Yousafzai’s early anonymous blogs to Greta Thunberg’s climate protest post, young people have used storytelling to shift the world. You can too!

A two-day, hands-on session where you’ll learn how to craft powerful blogs and compelling stories.
📍 Masterclass: Photo & Video for Blogs by Freedom Film Network
6 September 2025 | Kuala Lumpur
A one-day crash course to build your basic visual storytelling skills.
📍 Online Writing Clinic*
7 September 2025 | Online
A half-day live session to strengthen your writing and get feedback.
📍 1-on-1 Coaching Sessions*
Session #1: 28-30 August 2025 | Online
Session #2: 11-13 September 2025 | Online
Two personal coaching sessions (1.5 hours each) to help refine your blog ideas and writing style.
You’ll be asked to choose your preferred time slots for both sessions during the dates above.
* Don’t worry about internet – we’ve got you covered with data for the online sessions.
Who can join?
We’re looking for 10 motivated young people who:
- Are between 15–24 years old and based in Malaysia.
- Have a passion for writing and want to use their voice for good.
- Are eager to speak up about issues that matter to them and their peers.
- Are fluent in English, Malay or Manglish (it’s okay if English isn’t your first language).
- Have access to a smartphone or device for writing, photos or videos.
- Can commit to all the dates above.
How to apply
Write a 200-word blog-style essay on a topic that matters to you and your generation. Tell us why it’s important and what needs to change.
Only 10 participants will be selected … so bring your best! Apply by 14 July.
